We are pleased to present our Area 3 Show line up for 2014! All shows will be held at the Orangeville Agricultural Society Fairgrounds.
- SPRING CLASSIC – May 16-19
- SUMMERAMA – June 27 – July 1
- Area 3 NOVICE SHOW – August 8
- SUMMER CIRCUIT – August 9 & 10
The Area 3 Directors and Mark Harrell Show Management have been working together to try and provide exhibitors with the BEST possible show experience which includes a show schedule that will balance out the length of days (hopefully no one is showing in the dark – and the judges aren’t working overtime) while providing the scheduling changes that benefit the largest percentage of exhibitors. With that in mind, there will be fairly significant changes to the order of show days.
PLEASE check the show bills CAREFULLY to ensure you have a complete understanding of the new line up. Show bills will be posted on our FORMS page and www.markharrellhorseshows.com. An overview of the order of classes is also on each show page.
Get your stalls booked early and reserve your hydro! There are a limited amount of 20 & 30 amp Hydro spots available – don’t delay! Stall Booking Form

NSBA ALL IN FEE
Area 3 is PLEASED to announce that it will now offer an NSBA All In Fee of $25 per horse per judge for any and all NSBA Dual Approved class entries. The NSBA is a growing organization who provides excellent awards and payback opportunities to exhibitors. Last year the NSBA incentive fund paid back $85 per point! For more info and to become a member see the NSBA website
Improvements at the Orangeville Agricultural Society Fairgrounds:
The team at OAS led by Facility Manager Kate Laing are always working hard to make improvements and prepare the facility with great attention to detail for our horse shows! Some improvements of note that have already taken place for the 2014 shows include:
- Footing improvements in rings 3 & 4
- Barn footing levelled & improved
- Wifi access in main building
TRAIL MAN – Greg Reeves
Area 3 is very excited to have our own “Canadian Trail Man” back at our shows! Greg Reeves was a familiar face around the Trail ring for many years and we are thrilled that he will be back to DESIGN and MAINTAIN our trail courses. With Trail being the largest division at our shows, we needed a dedicated person to manage the trail in conjunction with the Team from Mark Harrell Horse Shows. Greg will be designing courses for different levels of exhibitors, setting up the warm up, and maintaining the pen on show day. Additional volunteers to rake and relieve Greg throughout the day will be appreciated – if you are able to help out please drop us a line . Area 3 is also offering this additional service to our exhibitors without an additional “trail fee” on your show bills. We hope to be able to continue to do that for our exhibitors – and sponsors are always needed to keep the shows affordable!
. . . Just Released ! ! !
Due to exhibitor & member requests, Area 3 is adding Over Fences Classes into its line up for all 3 circuits! Classes include Hunter Hack, Working Hunter & Equitation Over Fences. Please note that a minimum of 3 exhibitors per class will be required to run any individual class (entries must be made early in the day in order to decide what classes will be run). Inclement weather forcing use of the indoor arena could also affect the viability of the classes.
