Year End Awards Banquet!
A great day was had by all of those in attendance. The awards were absolutely fantastic!
Thank you to Sarah Black & Jess Mosley-Cairncross for your hard work sourcing the amazing prizes and getting them all to the banquet (it took a horse trailer to deliver them!) and in such a short time frame from our last show. Your expert organization and tireless commitment didn’t go unnoticed…thank you!
Thank you to caterers Lavender Blue for an excellent meal and wonderful service throughout the afternoon. The 106 people in attendance were treated to a scrumptious meal with chicken in a mushroom sauce, salad, bread, veggies and of course dessert. Yummm….
Special thanks to Mark Grice for his superb skills on the microphone as the MC for the day. Always nice to have a familiar face and voice to present awards on this memorable occasion.
The Silent Auction table was once again a HIT with some incredible offerings to choose from. Thank you to everyone who donated – and to those that purchased! This was a great fundraiser for Area 3 and we appreciate all of the support.
Our table center pieces were created and sponsored by Cheri Woodrow and Patti-Lynn Clayton and a winner at each table was lucky enough to take one home at the end of the day. Thank you Cheri & Patti for your work on these lovely decorations.
Every table setting was also treated to a gift from Area 3 – a winter toque, which seemed to be quite the popular item today! We look forward to seeing them out and about this winter in your pictures. Be sure to tag us in social media posts. And in case you missed them, they will also be available at our Annual General Meeting on February 4th at 1:00 pm at the Orangeville Fairgrounds.
Our annual commemorative awards were presented first:
The Linda Lambert Memorial Helping Hands Award which goes to an outstanding volunteer was presented to Debbie Periera. Debbie does SO much throughout the year and is a huge supporter of our club. Our sincerest thanks to you for all you do.
The Youth Achievement Award which goes to a youth who exemplifies sportsmanship, team work and volunteers at our events was presented to Darla LeRoux. Darla is a very deserving youth who was always there to lend a hand when needed and with a big cheerful smile on her face!
