I have always been a horse nut, but coming from an extremely non-horsey family it was challenging! At 16 years old, I started competing in the A circuit hunter/jumper ring, but due to injury, I had to retire from jumping after 4 wonderful years of competing. Following university, I slowly entered into a whole new equestrian world - Paints and Quarter Horses. Under the guidance of Dave Aitchison, my quarter horses first entered the show ring in 2005 and I started showing in 2006. It was a very exciting year especially my top ten placing at the Congress! I am looking forward to showing this year and I hope to achieve my goal of qualifying for the World Show. My real joy is the breeding aspect and Dave has diligently sought out some of the best broodmares to add to my collection - which makes the time of year very exciting for me. In the 'real' world I am a full-time Real Estate Sales Representative selling properties all over the GTA, but mainly in Peel Region and Dufferin County. I live on a farm just outside Orangeville with all my four legged friends. I became an Area 3 director so I could be involved and help out with the shows that I enjoy so much. I really like working with people, and my experience as a director has been a great one! |
