I truly wanted to thank you both [Corey Taylor, Area 3
President and Kathy Patterson, OQHYA Advisor] as well as the
organizations you represent for the role you played in the
wonderful experience our girls had at the Youth World Show this
summer. Both Stephanie and her sister Elizabeth were very
proud to represent Ontario and Area 3 at the Youth World Show.
The girls are very appreciative of the time and training they
have had over the years from Kelly Simpson and her husband Josh
Walters. Kelly worked hard to prepare the girls for the show
this past winter, and her dedication to teaching the girls over
the past 9 years was truly an inspiration. Kelly’s influence
was carried to Oklahoma City with our girls and their horses
and we greatly appreciate her help in ensuring the girls were
in good hands at the show. With a full slate of summer shows
here in Ontario, Kelly coordinated a Trainer in the US to
accompany them. The staff and extended barn family at Kelly
Simpson Training Centre have supported and watched the girls
grow into the young ladies and riders they are today and
cheered form them every step of the summer. While both
Stephanie and Elizabeth greatly missed their ‘barn family’ the
Youth World Show experience was something that they, in the
past, had felt they would only dream of.
Area 3 and the Ontario Quarter Horse Association have also
played a big part in this journey … the support and
encouragement by the members as well as the organization itself
has been overwhelming. The friends and personal mentoring
offered by those within the Ontario Quarter Horse industry have
been cherished influences on our girls over these past years.
In Oklahoma Jodi Mallet was an amazing help to the girls … even
though she was there to work with and support MacKenzie Harvey,
Jodi kept an eye on Stephanie and Elizabeth, never missing an
opportunity to do what she could to make their show a great
one. The Ontario Team, MacKenzie Harvey, Alex Jackson, Lindsay
Lehmann and Elizabeth and Stephanie were all a wonderful
support to one another, it truly was a great group of kids –
Ontario can be proud of their riders!
Bob and I are very much appreciative of everyone and the role
that many, most unknowingly, have played in the lives of our
daughters. Showing at the Youth World Show and representing
Ontario was an honor and a privilege that will forever be a
cherished memory for our family.
Thank you to you both and the organizations that you work with,
Mary-Anne |
