NSBA announces 'ShowPerks Rewards' program, which allows NSBA
members to earn rewards and redeem them at the NSBA 'ShowPerks
Rewards' website. The 'ShowPerks Rewards' program provides a
point for point match in each dual approved class and reward
points will be awarded to the owner of the horse. Rewards points
are redeemable for NSBA merchandise at the 'ShowPerks Rewards'
website.
How It Works:
1. Show in dual approved classes and earn points.
2. Approximately 4-6 weeks after the show, the points will be
available on the NSBA 'ShowPerks Rewards' website.
3. Redeem points towards NSBA merchandise. Starting January
2010, 'ShowPerks Rewards' will replace medallions as awards in
the dual approved classes.
Look for the 'ShowPerks Rewards' website to open in April 2010.
Frequently asked questions and answers on the 'ShowPerks
Rewards' program.
Smart Points
Beginning January 1, 2010 youth
enrolled in the NSBA Smart Points program and riding a licensed
horse will begin earning scholarship money in their dual
approved youth classes.
Beginning January 1 of 2010, NSBA will
take a leadership role in rewarding youth for their
participation in NSBA programs. Youth riders will be able to
earn scholarship money while riding Licensed horses in
dual-approved and other designated youth classes that can be
applied to their future educational experiences (College,
internships, trade schools, etc.) This program is in addition to
the traditional scholarship program already offered by NSBA.
Youth will apply to the program by paying a onetime fee of
$25.00 and completing an application form. They will need an
NSBA membership and ride a licensed horse in order to earn
scholarship money.
Each NSBA point earned in a youth class will
earn a money value. Novice Youth classes and points earned by
youth in Open classes are not included. The youth will receive
an annual print out of earnings. They will complete a form and
submit it to NSBA to request their payout when they age out of
the youth program (January 1 of the year after youth turns 18).
Requests for payout must be made by December 31 of the year the
youth becomes eligible for the payout. Any earnings that are
eligible for payout and remain unclaimed will be moved to the
NSBA Scholarship fund annually. NSBA will utilize the sanction
fees paid by the youth to create the 'pot'. Added to this will
be the 10% of the trainer sale money which is contributed to
scholarships annually |
