The Mariposa Market, located in the heart of downtown Orillia, is a good old fashioned shopping experience with an eat-in café and bakery in a general store atmosphere.  The Mariposa Market stores also include The Scent Shop, The Seasons Shop, and the Emporium.

Bob and Mary-Anne Willsey appreciate the environment that the Area 3 Promotional Club has set for their daughters.  Stephanie and Elizabeth Willsey started showing Area 3 in 2002 and have loved every minute of their showing experiences!  The Willsey family invites you to take a step back in time and enjoy an old fashioned shopping experience at The Mariposa Market.  Check out their website.

Ontario Youth Scholarship Program
McKee-Pownall Equine Services is proud to announce a new and exciting award available to Ontario youth.  This is a scholarship award in the form of a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC).  The first place award will be a $1,250 GIC, and the second place winner will receive a $750 GIC.  This GIC will be put aside on behalf of the recipient.  In order to receive the funds, the winner must use the money for post-secondary education.

We have chosen five show circuits where earned points will be collected and count towards the scholarship.   We are excited to announce that three of these shows are the Area 3 Shows!!

Qualifying Area 3 Shows:
~ Spring Classic - May 15-18
~ Summerama - July 2-5
~ Area 3 Novice Show & Summer Circuit - August 14-16

The other circuits where points will be counted are as follows:
~ Area 2 - Spring Kick-Off – Black’s Equestrian Centre – May 2nd – 3rd
~ Area 1 – Summer Celebration – Ilderton Fairgrounds – August 20th – 23rd

Interested competitors must attend at least three of the circuits for their points to count.  Points earned at other shows will not go towards this scholarship.

This award is open to Youth 13 & Under, Youth 14 to 18, and Novice Youth.  However, novice points cannot be combined with other youth points – the division that the youth earns the most points in will be the division counted.  Only one horse-rider combination will be counted.

McKee-Pownall would also like to host a ‘Youth Fun Event’ at Summerama.  All youth are welcome and do not have to be competing for the scholarship to come out and have fun!!

Teams for the fun event will be made up that day.  Members of the winning team will receive an additional 100 points that will be combined with their show points to go towards the scholarship.

The GIC will be purchased in McKee-Pownall’s name at the time of award.  McKee-Pownall will keep control of the GIC until such time as the recipient confirms proof of enrollment at a post secondary institution.
