SUMMERAMA 2002 was a huge success. This was the largest Summerama ever with 4,404 entries over the 4 days not including the NSBA entries.

There were a good percentage of the entries on the 3rd and 4th days in the NSBA 2 Year Old Snaffle Bit Western Pleasure, Junior Western Pleasure, Junior Hunter Under Saddle, Amateur Hunter Under Saddle, Senior Hunter under Saddle Classes as well as the 14-18 Youth Western Pleasure and 14 - 18 Youth Hunter Under Saddle. All 13 NSBA Classes offered had entries.

SPONSORS OF THE NSBA CLASSES included Lisa Nicholson; Gord Wadds Quarter Horses; Rick Leek Quarter Horses; Wayne Davis Quarter Horses; Chris Lenhart Quarter Horses; Bill Rinzema, Rinzema Quarter Horses; and Dave Aitchison Performance Horses.

Thank you to all of our exhibitors for making this show the largest ever - without your support all of the hard work that goes into running this big of an event would be in vain.

Looking ahead to Summerama 2003 - we already have 90 hook ups reserved, so if you will be needing one for next year, make sure to get your deposit and request in now to Andrea McGowan.

Some wonderful comments from exhibitors...
(taken from the OQHA discussion board and email correspondence)

"Summerama was fabulous!!! Please pass on my congratulations to the Board for an exceptional job on the show! WELL DONE!...Gretta Hutton

"Just wanted to take a moment to let you know ho much we enjoyed Summerama! It was incredibly organized & everyone was sooooo helpful!."...Miriam Patey

Just a note to let you know that I thoroughly enjoyed Summerama. It is a well-run and well thought out schedule, allowing you to offer many classes and still keep the show running efficiently. I know how much work it is to put on such an event and you and the rest of the crew for Area 3 deserve many kudos!!!...Thanks again, Karen DeVlieger

I wanted to tell you how great the schedule was! It was so nice to get done earlier and to be able to practice trail. I think that definitely helps the # of entry's. Thanks again!... Chris Baldwin

"We are still trying to recuperate after a fun weekend at Summerama, but just wanted to take a minute and thank all you hard working Area 3 people on a job well done in the hottest weather in years. The lady giving out the prizes and coupons was on the run from the first minute I saw her and was still going strong when we left. She did everything with a smile as did your wonderful gate man - he always has a pleasant word for everyone. Those are just 2 of many and your team is to be congratulated. Everyone needs to help put on a show to know how much work is involved, not to mention one the size of Summerama. Thanks from the gang from Area 1."

"It was a great show and the people who run this show should be commended for the hard work and dedication. I have always enjoyed showing at Summerama and have always found the people fun. Thanks again Area 3 for a wonderful show looking forward to next year."
