Ontario Youth Team Challenge 2005

It appears that all the hard work has paid off and all the participants in the 2005 OYTC had a great time. Weather was perfect, teams were well matched and everyone was ready to have some fun.

On Thursday evening June 30th, everyone gathered at the North Caledon Equestrian Centre pavilion where they were divided into youth teams. They then received their team T shirts and visors from the team sponsors: MacCaulay Quarter Horses, Davis Feed, Windy Ridge Farms and Hepburn Sales. On Friday evening, we held the games which brought out the best in team spirit and fun competition. With a rousing game of Grab the Tail followed by the 6 minute obstacle course race where they filled a bucket with water from a sponge, everyone had a chance to test their abilities and cheer on their fellow team members.

On Sunday evening, the points from the first two days of Summerama competition and the games night were tallied to decide the placement of the teams. Following the team parade, one sportsmanship award was given to each team and the announcement was made. In first place, MacCaulay Quarter Horses, in second place was Davis Feed, third place finishers were Hepburn Sales with a strong fourth place showing from Windy Ridge Farms.

This fun event was enjoyed by 50 youth members. With generous sponsorship from Greenhawk, Pleasant Ridge Saddlery, Canter By Tack, OQHYA, Circle R Saddlery, Joe Hauser, and Northern Guardrail, the OYTC 2005 was a huge success.
