 On
Monday October 19th the Area 3 team competed in the National
Youth Activity Team Tournament at the All American Quarter Horse
Congress and all team members did a fantastic job. Everyone
competed at the highest level and gave each ride their best. I'm
am so proud of all of the girls!
Our highlights were Stephanie Willsey's third place finish in
the Hunter Under Saddle and Alex Jackson's ninth place finish in
the Western Pleasure. Those two placings gave us a 12th place
overall (one point out of a three way tie for 10th) out of over
70 teams.
I'd like to thank Via Trailers and Ken McLellan for their
sponsorship of the team this year, Via Trailers donated a
Father's day basket of goodies that was raffled off at the Teen
Ranch Show and they donated a beautiful Bench that was raffled
off at the Summer Circuit show.
Mark Grice also helped out the team this year by donating a
portion of the proceeds of the painting he did at Summerama.
I'd also like to thank Laurie Haughton for her help and support
of the team at the Congress, it was a real team effort getting
the girls organized.
I can't express enough how proud I am of each of the team
members, they did Area 3 proud and it was a privilege to
be their Youth Advisor.
