Emma
Kelebay from Toronto, Ontario is a very friendly face with a
successful show record with the Area 3 and Ontario circuits.
Emma shows a beautiful black gelding named "The Chocolate
Bandit," aka Bandit on the Ontario circuit, and she also has a
Quarter Horse buckskin called Bucky who she shows in one or two
open shows a year. Emma and Bandit compete in Novice Youth All
Around events, as well as the Youth 14-18 Showmanship,
Horsemanship, and Trail. Emma and Bandit have been very
successful in the show ring and came home from last year’s Area
3 Banquet with the award for Champion Novice Youth Showmanship.
Another memorable award for Emma was winning the High Point
Novice Youth at Black’s this year. She was very excited;
especially because this was the first time she had won an all
around award. Congratulations Emma and Bandit!
Emma just recently returned from the All American Quarter Horse
Congress in Columbus, Ohio, to compete in Novice Youth
Showmanship, Horsemanship, and Trail, as well as proudly
representing Area 3 in the NYATT Showmanship. One of her goals
for Congress was to make Area 3 proud! Emma, you did an amazing
job, and I speak on behalf of all of Area 3 when I say that we
were very proud of you! Emma’s goals for the future is to show
at Regionals, and she also thinks it would be really fun to go
to a show in Florida or somewhere warm during the winter.
Emma has been riding for the past six years, and truly loves
it! She enjoys showing her horse but just loves riding in
general! Her favourite event to show is Trail, and her
favourite show is Summerama. Emma speaks with such respect and
pride as she describes the working with Jodi Mallette. "Jodi
has transformed me as a rider, and Bandit as a horse" says Emma
of her Trainer, and friend, Jodi Mallette or JM Show Quarter
Horses in Orangeville. Emma continues to say, "Jodi has made us
the team we are today, and I am eternally grateful for all her
guidance, patience, and hard work." Emma would also like to
thank her parents for supporting her throughout her life. She
understands how much dedication the sport of horses require and
she can’t thank them enough for all the hours and money they
spend on her to allow her to do what she loves. She would also
like to thank her aunt for always helping her out at the shows,
no matter how early or late it is. And last but not least, Emma
would like to thank everyone at her barn, the Domingos’, Lisa
Bavin, the Saccomanno’s, and the Moore’s, for being great
friends and always being there for her.
Emma is 17 years old and currently attends York University,
where she studies at the Schulich School of Business. In Emma’s
free time, she enjoys trail riding, shopping, and hanging out
with friends. Congratulations at on your work at Congress and
we wish you well on the shows this year Emma! Keep up the good
work, and we look forward to watching you and Bandit achieve new
goals at the shows next year!
