| Youth Spotlight - Jessica Millward by Stephanie Willsey |
Jessica
Millward of Midland, Ontario, has been showing her horse Shes An
Obvious Lady (aka Jersey) for that past 2 years. Jessica
recently started throughout the Ontario AQHA circuit, though
Jessica has been riding horses for over ten years!Jessica is coached by Nancy Mosley, and shows in Novice Youth, Youth 14-18, and Open Classes. She says her favourite class to show in is the Working Hunter. Jessica’s proudest moments in the show pen are always when she achieves the goals she sets for herself. She works hard – enjoying the journey almost as much as the achievements she’s made! Jessica is currently attending Nippising University, to become a teacher. With a lot on her plate at school, Jessica still hasn’t set aside horses; she plans to continue to show when ever she can. Jessica shows because she loves meeting new people and just having fun with the horses. Although she says she does not have a very competitive personality, showing is still rewarding for her. Jessica just loves getting out into the ring having fun! Jessica would like to thank her coach, Nancy Mosely, as well as her parents for their continued support by giving her the ability to show and while working towards her educational goals. It sure takes a lot of time management and sharp skills to focus on both school and horse shows … But I’m sure with Jessica’s dedication, hard work, and talent she can ‘do it all!’ Good Luck to Jessica and Jersey this upcoming year! |
