A letter from the the President,

This will certainly be a year to remember! I am sure that after this year everything will be gauged as to whether it was before the Covid crisis or after. I feel greatly for our membership and how this crisis has affected each of you individually and uniquely. I especially feel great sympathy for those of you that have kids at home as I am sure this hasn’t been easy for you.

I would like to personally thank the team on the Area 3 Board for their enthusiasm and desire to work towards a welcoming horse show environment. I am truly disappointed that we didn’t get to put these ideas and efforts into practice for you all to enjoy.

It is with regret that I tell you that myself and the team have decided to cancel our Summer Circuit horse show. We are all disappointed to have to make an announcement as such yet again. However, we felt that in the continued interest of everyone’s health and safety that it would not be permissible in August given the current progression of the provincial guidelines. We hope to get right to work planning for an even better 2021 season soon, and hope you will keep checking back for announcements about the events we hope to offer next season.

As for our AGM, at the time being it is still too soon to make any judgement calls but we have great hope to be able to meet with members in the New year. In the meantime, there is always a silver lining to any dark cloud and we feel that is the ingenuity and creativity that has come from our passions to enjoy and share our love for the American Quarter Horse. The creation of an online platform to continue to compete and grow together at a safe distance is one of those little treasures. With that in mind encourage you to check out the virtual horse shows that are being put on, on the web by OQHA and the 2020 pandemic summer horse show available through Facebook.

Please stay safe and we will all get through this together,

Corey Taylor
